As you may know, to keep a japanese garden free of weeds is a very complicated task. Also, if your garden is a moss garden, the task is even more complicated. So, how do the japanese people do this kind of work?
Well... I'll show you what I saw in a garden in Kyoto:

Yes, they don't have any magical product or tool... they do it remove it using their hands.

Walking around some streets of Tokyo I found this interesting garden:

Yes, it is a rock garden with a pine tree on the roof of a garage.
The limited space available in this city of Japan makes almost impossible to have a garden, at least for the majority of the citizens of Tokyo, so the owner of this house used his imagination to bring a little bit of nature to the crowded city.
Notice the shape of the tree. Obviously, the owner takes care of it and prunes it and shapes it just like a big bonsai. It is a really complicated and time consuming task for such a big tree.
