Now you can, try your luck with an online Tarot reading. The program is a simple, but practical, way of practising your knowledge of the Tarot without having to purchase the deck.

The Tarot program, which in this case simulates the 5-cards spread, can be found here: www.portalpsychic.com in the menu on the left, at the top, with the name Online Tarot, or by clicking here.

Instructions are very simple: you only have click on 5 cards, and write down the question.

Once you have choosen the five cards of the spread, if you press the button “Submit”, they will be turned face up and you will be able to see the result and read the interpretation.

It is still necessary to improve the program, but to get a start in the world of Tarot we believe that it is more than enough, and you can surprise your friends and relatives if you read them the cards. Of course, before reading the cards to anybody make sure you know well the meaning of every arcanum.

The basic cross spread gets its name from the lay-out of the cards on the table, as they make up two crossing lines. It is called basic because there is another cross spread, called the Celtic cross spread, which adds some additional cards at the end of the throw.

With this throw you will get several answers, beginning in the past, going through the obstacles that the subject will find, and the final result.

The cards are set in the following way:

Some authors prefer to start with the card at the bottom (the one that we have numbered as 2), but I always prefer to start with the one on the left and go on counterclockwise.

Each position has the following interpretation:

1 - The arcanum that is in this position will tell us about the past of the subject, what influenced him as a young man, or in the beginnings of the context of his question. For example, if the question is related to love, this card will show his past relationships, the subject’s attitude in the past or how his present relationship began.

2 - The card in the second position shows the difficulties that the subject is having to solve the issue. If he is asking about work, this card will reveal who is plotting against him, who does not support him enough, or which one of the subject’s attitudes is the one causing disruption in his plans.

3 - The third card is, somehow, opposite of the second one, since it indicates what is in favor of the subject, who he must turn to for support to solve the issue, where or in whom he can look for help.

4 - From the 4th card onwards the Tarot shows the future, starting with the immediate future, that is to say, a day, a week or a month, depending on the extent in the time of the question.

5 - This card indicates what will happen in a longer term, years perhaps. It is possible that it is contradicted by the card in the 4th place, which would indicate a radical medium-term change.

6 - This card, standing outside the cross, is considered to be the final result of the query. It would be its synthesis; here we will find the answer to the question in the long run, on having ended the context of the query. It can come at the end of the life of the subject, or at the end of the timespan of the question.
